Our Wedding

We met in the summer of 2021 in San Diego while working together at UC San Diego Health. Mitch had been on the team for about a year when Molly joined the Breast Oncology group. What started as a professional partnership quickly turned into a close friendship as we worked side-by-side coordinating clinical trials and caring for patients.

Not long after Molly moved into a house in North Park, just a half mile from Mitch, we began spending more time together with friends, joining a local kickball league, and making the most of San Diego life. Between weekends with friends and dinners around the neighborhood, we spent more and more time together. In early December, we officially started dating (and managed to keep it quiet at work—briefly!).

From there, life moved quickly in the best way. In 2022, we met each other’s families, first at Molly’s family ranch, then back in Michigan for a summer trip. Later that year, Mitch changed jobs and we celebrated with a California road trip.

In 2023, we moved to Milton-Freewater, Oregon, where Mitch worked in the vineyards with Molly’s brother, Jack. Molly continued her role at UCSD remotely, and we loved living close to family and enjoying small-town life together.

In 2024, we headed to Madison, Wisconsin, after Mitch was accepted into a master’s program in Soil Science at UW-Madison. Soon after, Molly was accepted into an accelerated nursing program there as well. We’ll both graduate in May 2026 and were especially excited to share an alma mater. Mitch will continue at UW-Madison pursuing his PhD in soil science, and Molly will begin her nursing career in the transplant unit at UW Health.

From San Diego to Oregon to Wisconsin, we’ve built a life full of adventure, family, friends, new chapters, and plenty of laughs. We can’t wait to celebrate the next one with you.

Our Story

We have booked a shuttle service for guests on the day of the Wedding. The shuttle will pick up guests at the Courtyard Marriott in downtown Corvallis and will drop them off at the venue, the Klipfel's home. The shuttle will also take guests back to the hotel after the wedding. You do not have to be staying at the hotel to use the shuttle! We will update the website closer to the date with the times the shuttle will be running.

For guests who will not be drinking and plan to drive to the wedding, parking will be available along the street of the Klipfel Family Home, South 16th Street. Additional parking has been arranged at Philomath Elementary School. The Klipfel Family Home and Philomath Elementary are both on South 16th Street and are located across from each other. Wedding guests are permitted to park in the school's parking lot.

The Eugene Airport is ~45 minutes from the wedding venue and surrounding areas where you may be staying. Although it is smaller, it is a great option for easy travel! There will not be traffic coming from this airport as it will take you on smaller highways to Philomath.

The Portland Airport is ~2 hours from the wedding venue and surrounding areas where you may be staying. This is a much larger airport. There may be traffic coming from this airport as it will take you through Portland, OR on your route to Philomath.

The Courtyard Marriott is a great hotel option ~15 minutes from the venue! This hotel is located on the riverfront in Corvallis and is a short walk to the Corvallis Farmers' Market, bars, and restaurants! Wedding Discount is available at the Riverfront Courtyard Marriott. Please Call 541-753-0199 and press 0. This will get you connected with the&nbsp;front desk. Please then ask to book a room using the %15 wedding discount.

Travel and Wedding Day Transportation

The Corvallis Farmers' Market is a great way to spend Saturday morning! It runs along the riverfront in Corvallis and offers produce and food vendor options, including breakfast.

Take the opportunity to see the beautiful Oregon Coast! Newport is just 45 minutes from Philomath. There is lots to do at the coast, including the Oregon Coast Aquarium.
